Musa scored Twice as Nigeria demolished Togo in Thursday's Friendly game

Three goals in 27 first-half minutes set Gernot Rohr’s men on their way to a comfortable victory over the Hawks on Thursday Ahmed Musa struck twice as Nigeria cruised past Togo 3-0 in an international friendly played at the Stade Municipal de Saint Leu La Foret, Paris. The Leicester City was unimposing in the Super Eagles 1-1 draw with Corcisa, but more than made up for lost time in Thursday’s game with a double in 15 minutes. Musa, who had a quiet season with his English Premier League outfit, led in the third minute of the game when Alex Iwobi’s cross was miscued by goalkeeper Sabam Alassani. Gernot Rohr’s kept pushing and got the second goal in the 17th minute as the forward completed his brace thanks to Iwobi’s assist. A third goal arrived ten minutes later as Nigeria continued to dominate, with Kelechi Iheanacho tucking home an assist from Ogehenekaro Etebo. The three-time African champions remain unbeaten under coach Rohr who took charge in September 2016. This will put them in the right frame of mind ahead June 8’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier versus South Africa in Uyo. For Togo, the defeat is a setback as they continue preparations for June 13’s Afcon qualifier against Benin Republic. The Sparrow Hawks are yet to win any game in 2017.
